The Church is always missionary and this mission is constantly up-to-date.

In the Philippines, the feminine branch of our Order, the Canonesses Regular of the Lateran, have four convents. From time to time, a young man becomes interested in the canonical life.

Our Province decided to respond to this call and provide formation to candidates who wish to become Canons.

 Unfortunately, we are too few in number to send missionaries out there, but we are still courageous enough to organise formation in France. This whole project is coming about through an agreement between our Province and the Archbishop of Cebu who, with an open heart, has reacted to our project.

What is the aim?

Our aim is to take in candidates, form them as Canons and, when the time comes, open a house in the Philippines so that our Order can also develop in Asia.

Easy? Far from it!

But we have plenty of courage. We would like to see this commitment through to completion. It will also enable us to embellish our abbey a little more and, perhaps, the presence of young men on formation will draw others at least to consider a vocation.

In order to welcome these young men, we are obliged to restore our abbey as it is in a state of disrepair.

The most urgent work needed is to transform the attic into bedrooms for the young men and then to make standard living quarters for the confreres who are already living in the abbey.

If we count only on our own resources, we cannot achieve the restoration of the abbey. This is why, through this website, we are asking all people of good will to help us accomplish this project.
